Final Sigma is still on the web. I’m just not sure exactly what I want to do with it, yet. In the coming weeks, I’m going to establish a direction and follow through with it.
I have had some suggestions, and I have come up with a few ideas of my own. One friend suggested I just make this a Tumblr, but not on Tumblr. That’s kind of what I tried to do last time. It worked for a while, but I eventually lost much of my interest proceeding that way.
I might instead use this space for reading notes. I read books, usually too many simultaneously that I never seem to finish them. Anyway, as a point of discipline, I’m considering making it a habit to pop in here every chapter with a quote or commentary (or both). I read good books for school, and I read good books in my spare time. Why not let them spill onto the internet?
So, that’s where I’m heading. I could have done this on Goodreads or Amazon. But doing it here, I will have more control over style and such. I might want to embed a YouTube video or link to an author’s profile on Twitter. By using my own web space, I will have more freedom to implement different pieces of the internet.
There are two categories of content that I’m probably not going to include on this blog. The first, is internet silliness. I love memes and such, but this blog will not be a landing for them. The second piece is personal narratives. Should I talk about myself here? No, I don’t think so. However, I will include a feed from my Twitter profile in the sidebar so some of my personal updates will show up.
This is a new adventure. It looks to be a fun one. I’m currently trying to settle on a theme, tagline, and logo. Once I finish those, though, I’ll start rolling out content. This blog might just sit around in another dark, unvisited corner of the internet. Or, people might discover it and interact with it. I hope for the latter, but the former wouldn’t wreck my world in any way.
